Questions

What is sound healing?

Sound healing is a guided listening and relaxation practice using the sounds and vibrations of instruments such as singing bowls, chimes and gongs. You rest comfortably and bring your attention to the sound, with space to slow down and turn inward.

Is sound healing scientifically supported?

Some small studies suggest that sound-based relaxation may help people feel calmer and reduce self-reported stress. Research is still developing, and it does not establish sound healing as a treatment for medical conditions or guarantee particular results.

How many sessions are recommended?

There is no fixed number that suits everyone. You can begin with one session to explore the experience, then discuss your preferences and whether you would like to return with Parena. There is no required series or promise of a particular outcome.

Is it suitable for children and seniors?

Suitability depends on the person, the instruments and the session format. Please discuss age, sound sensitivity, hearing concerns and any health conditions with Parena before booking. If you have medical concerns, seek advice from your healthcare professional first; suitability should not be assumed for everyone.

Do I need any experience to attend a sound healing session?

No prior sound healing, meditation or yoga experience is needed to attend a session. You simply lie down or sit comfortably while listening to instruments such as singing bowls, chimes or gongs. There is nothing to perform or get right.

How long is a sound healing session?

Duration depends on whether you choose an individual session, a group sound bath or a workshop. SwarAangan's timings are available on call; ask about your chosen format before booking so you can plan your visit.

What should I expect during a session?

You will be invited to lie down or sit comfortably as the instruments are played. You can follow the sound, breathe naturally and rest. Some people feel relaxed or notice emotions, while others simply enjoy listening; experiences vary. Let your guide know if a sound feels too intense or you need a pause.

What should I bring or wear?

Wear comfortable, loose clothing that lets you sit or lie down easily. You may bring a shawl or light blanket for comfort. Ask the institute whether anything else is needed for your chosen session, especially for a water-based experience.

Do you offer individual and group sessions?

SwarAangan offers group sound baths and sound-based experiences, with individual or group options for selected offerings such as tuning forks. Tell us whether you are booking for yourself, a group or a team so Parena can explain the available format.

Is sound healing a medical treatment?

No. Sound healing at SwarAangan is a relaxation and mindfulness experience, not a medical treatment or a substitute for medical or psychological care. Continue any prescribed treatment and discuss health concerns with a qualified healthcare professional.

How do I find out fees, dates and format?

Send a WhatsApp message or use the enquiry form with the offering you are interested in, your preferred date and whether you are enquiring for yourself or a group. The institute will confirm availability, fees, duration and format before you book. Details not listed on the website are available on call rather than as estimates.
